Root down deep

At the turning of the year – many are weary. Many are wondering about the new year.
Reflecting on Psalm 1 – and the imagery of trees and living water – may we know where our true refreshment is – and drink of the Living Water.

Root down deep

Root down deep
To the water flow
And drink up
Into your soul

You have thirsted and languished
The full hour
Now be filled

And as your thirst quenched: Strength
And in new strength: Refreshment
And with a refreshed soul:
The burden lighter to carry

Drink together
That the loads of many might be lighter still

Root down deep
And drink
