Dust
Dust you are
And to
Dust you shall return
We have heard too often
Laid to rest
Oh Dust
Take on
Keep your flesh
And breathe
Oh Clay
Cling close
And love
We know our
Fragility
Our
Frailty
We know
Finality
In the land of the here and now
We know
Loss
We know
Our own temporal finiteness
Oh how we long to live
Dust taking on true form
Infinite
Forever
Free
Oh breath of God
Breathe life
Eternal
Into our weary bones
*
Death to life
Death to life:
Is the journey
Declaring our
Dependency
Our desperate state
Starts the day
Off with garments of denial
On with linen ephod of truth
Off with isolation
On with love and comfort
(Receive it.)
Offering others pure care
Off with stubbornness
And hardness of heart
Take on humility and
A teachable-open-heartness
(Again and again)
Take off the sinful self
Put on the Sacred
Forever-clothes
(Don’t take them off..ever)
Move off the wayward path
Within you and without you
Now, Fully
Onto the Jesus-way
Walk in The Lenten Way
And
Live
*
Choice
The voices beckon you
Opposed, pulling
For Self or for the Other
For gain or for giving
Choose, now
Deceit or honesty
Death or life
Find that paper-way of the world even now
Crumbles: As paper masks falling
Do not fear the solid
Form of life
That awaits you
And turn
In turning
Toward
The One
There
The finding
There
The being found
*
Resurrection Dances
Leave death behind as ashes
An oil lamp lit
The flame
Resurrection dances
